Some couples don’t need the spotlight to shine. TY is a Singaporean software engineer, Elizabeth is a Chinese-American in the wine industry, and somewhere between two worlds and a shared love of good food, they found each other in 2020. TY proposed in Japan. By the time their wedding came around, they were already building a life together which gave the whole day the easy, lived-in warmth of two people who simply know each other.
They told us early on what they wanted: keep it natural, keep it candid, and turn the lens toward the people in the room as much as toward themselves. So we did. Their Western-style solemnisation and the reading of vows unfolded gently, without performance. Just real moments, caught rather than staged, exactly the documentary approach they’d hoped for.
Elizabeth carried herself with a quiet, timeless elegance that the day’s styling echoed beautifully. The decor at Andaz was understated and classic — nothing overdone, everything intentional — a perfect match for a couple who value substance over spectacle.
