Opposites, but the easy kind. Zavier is the extrovert, Mona the introvert. He’s the gym-goer, and she’s happiest at home with a drama on. They met at university through a project ten years ago, have been together for eight of them, and somewhere in that long, comfortable history landed on exactly the wedding they wanted: intimate, beachside, a small gathering of the people who matter, somewhere the sand is impossibly white.
Mandarin Oriental Desaru Coast delivered all of it. They’d hoped for dreamy, light-filled images. Mona has a real eye, with a love for flash, black-and-white, and candid moments. The day handed us the conditions to make them. Everyone had worried about rain but instead it came hot and windy, which is a gift. The winds were our paid actors for the day.
The first look on the beach set the tone, and the suite was vast and beautiful. The couple had carefully planned out the timeline which gave us the rare luxury of time for ample portraits. Then evening arrived, and Zavier kicked off the afterparty with a surprise champagne shower on stage. Laidback couple, perfect light, a little chaos in all the right places. Exactly how an intimate beach wedding should feel.
