If there was one moment in the day that asked everyone to slow down, it was the solemnisation of Danny and Emelia. For a couple this full of laughter and life, the quiet sincerity of that exchange was genuinely moving. It was the most solemn part of the entire day and the most beautiful one. There was an energy in the air that never once let up. The couple was effortlessly put-together without ever looking like they were trying. Our team had full creative freedom during the couple portraits, and Danny and Emilia were the ideal subjects: responsive to direction, trusting, and completely natural in front of the lens. They gave us the space to do our best work, and then some.
Then the doors to the dinner banquet opened, the music came up, and Danny and Emilia’s people took over. This was a wedding for the ones they love. Friend-focused, generous, and completely alive. The banquet was less a formal dinner and more a celebration that happened to involve tables. Drinks were flowing and laughters were loud. The energy in that room was something. Their guests were happy to be there, the way people only are when the couple throwing the party genuinely loves them and wants them to have a good time. The night didn’t end at the banquet. It rarely does with couples like this. The after party was fun, free, unapologetically joyful.
Danny and Emilia were one of the best people we know. Appreciative, warm to everyone around them, and completely trusting of our vision. That kind of creative freedom is rare and we don’t take it for granted. We left that day full. That’s the only way to put it.
